Lake Tahoe - June 29 to 30

Lake Tahoe, a gorgeous lake in Nevada/California is one of the most enjoyable touristic places in California. It is far by 225 miles north which comes to more than three hours of very thrilling, exciting and challenging drive from San Francisco. We (wife Sushila land son Sugam) visited the spot though we had planned to go to LA.

The huge lake, which is not elaborated here geographically is a very convenient place to enjoy the off days and relax after heavy duties in the week-days. You go for swim or sun-basking or boating or even para-sailing or even for snow skiing in the winter Lake Tahoe is the most proper place. While returning home from, this scrib saw the left-side or the up-going of the road to the Lake Tahoe found completely blocked because of the heavy trafficing and all of them were heading towards the huge lake. Because, the week-end beginning from next day will also be followed together by 'the Independent Day' - the July the 4th. Actually the accomodation is also not a problems since there are provisions of big hotels, restaurants and motels. But again if the visitors could not be accomnodated under any roof, they must go with their own tents and motor-house, the plenty of areas in the midst of greenary is available free. 'Lake Tahoe is a must to visit if you have come to vista of San Francisco in California.'

Sears' Tower likely to destroy - June 22, 2006

Sears Tower Terror Target? Sears Tower, the 1450 feet high tower building in Chicago city is the highest and one of the main attraction to the visitors. The 110 storeyed tower is a place where 10,000 people do their related duties to earn their livelihood. We (including my wife Sushila and son Sugam) visited the spot on 18 and 19th of June, about a couple of days ago. The fine morning news of 23rd June on CNN gave a big surprise to us that the tower was made a target to destroy by so called 'Seas of David'. Seven people concerned with the event were arrested in the previous night.

The news followed: Story aired: Friday, June 23, 2006 U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzalez said seven men arrested last night were homegrown terrorists who were planning to wage a "full ground war" here in the U.S., with the help of the Al Qaeda terror network. And that included blowing up of the Sears Tower in Chicago and the FBI building in Miami. But the attorney general said the men were caught early in the planning stage.

Chicago - June 18-19, 2006

Chicago, Illinois, is one of the beautiful cities in the US that lies about 396 miles east of Minneapolis, MN. The city with tall towerlike buildings of 80-90 storeys and big stalls make a wonderful attraction to the people. O'Hare is the main airport of the city and is regarded as the busiest airport in the US. We travelled to Chicago from Minneapolis on a Chrysler Sebringe. Sugam was at the wheels for more than 6 hours each way. We drove from Minneapolis to Chicago via Rochester, MN and Wisconsin. We drove most of the way through countrysite with green and flat land, that was seen more or less like a tarai belt in Nepal. The grain stores appeared in the field reminds an exact lifestyle of the farmers in the villages in Nepal. But their discipline, awakening of the responsibilities towards the development of the locality, people and the country creates a vast difference between the people of Nepal and the US. Moreover, the involvement of latest technologies and the equipments in their day to day lives make the Americans really different from the people of the developing countries in Asia. However, the USA is the richest and most powerful country in the world.

Minnehaha Falls - June 6, 2006

Minnehaha Falls Is The Best
By D. P. Shrestha, 16252, Fairgreen Ave S, MN 10/06/06

Last Visit: I visited Minnehaha Falls with my wife and son Sugam on June 10. The trip was one of the unscheduled programmes. I loved the place.

The Minnehaha Falls is quite close to the Nokomis Park which has 2.78 miles of walking lane around. Minneapolis is a state of 10,000 lakes. Nokomis could be one of the smaller lakes but a very pleasant one nevertheless. In fact, every lake is attached with park, well shaped, designed and maintained either by the government or by the residents. May, June and July is supposed to be suitable season to visit Minneapolis, Minnesota. It will be very hard even to come out in the next season - winter because of chilly weather. People here love natural beauty very much. During this season if the weather is better they don't care even about their work. They don't want to miss out on enjoying the nature at any cost. Thus the parks seem very crowded in this season with people walking, jogging, roller skating, boating and sun bathing.

There are many trails you can take that brings you to breath taking scenes! And the falls was unbelievable. I enjoy every single second while visiting places like these. If you haven't been there before; or are thinking about going...I suggest you go there!
